Oliver Anthony slams the GOP debate for co-opting his song

Virginia singer-songwriter Oliver Anthony criticized the GOP presidential debate for using his song, “Rich Men North or Richmond,” and missing the point — big time. After all, it’s a song about Washington, D.C.:

“It was funny seeing it in the presidential debate, because it’s like, I wrote that song about those people,’ [Anthony] said. ‘That song has nothing to do with Joe Biden. You know, it’s a lot bigger than Joe Biden. That song is written about the people on that stage and a lot more, not just them, but definitely them.’
